I have developed a script using Extruder Turtle that creates a forget me not flower. I have also experimented with other designs of flowers such as roses and tulips, but have not figured out a design I like yet.
I spent a lot of my time trying to develop a model of a rose using computational fabrication, but I could not get a rose blossom that I liked and that actually looked like a rose. In order to not just bang my head into a wall over and over, I pivoted and created a forget me not design that builds off of the code we used for the gcode assignment.

I thought I wanted to get something easy out of the way, but the flowers proved more difficult than I expected. I couldn’t get the shapes I wanted and when I got cool designs, they structurally failed. However, the forget me not turned out extremely well.

Week 1 (Nov 18 – 22): Design the script for a forget me not and print.
week 2 (Nov 25 – 29): Design the tulip vase, print the vase, and design the map of Vancouver.
week 3 (Dec 2 – 6): Print, print, and print the 3D map, making adjustments as needed.
Deliverables: (small) 3D map of downtown Vancouver as well as a tulip shaped vase with a forget me not lid (not air tight lid the forget me not will just sit on top).
