Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. My name is Nathaniel, and I’m currently an undergraduate student majoring in computer science. As I approach the end of this semester, I’m excited to share that I’ll be graduating soon. As I’ve also pursued a minor in management alongside my computer science studies. I know, it’s a bit different, and I still remember the surprised reactions I got from people when they learned about my minor choice.
I think this class is starting off great! As I’ve been told this class was fun and exciting. I was already surprised when we had to buy a 3D printer instead of a textbook; which I am very excited about as this will be my first time messing with 3D printers.
Beyond academics, I have a thrilling hobby that I’m passionate aboutâflying FPV (first-person view) drones. For those unfamiliar, FPV flying involves wearing FPV goggles that give you a drone’s-eye view as you fly the drone. It’s a really cool experience as if you were actually flying.
Because of this, I’ve decided to share a project creating a 3D-printed mini drone. I hope to 3D print my own mini drone in the near future.
Hey Nathanial,
I’m also really excited about working with a 3D printer in this class. It’s my first time diving into 3D printing as well, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll create. Your project on 3D-printed drones sounds like a good time. I’m actually surprised that building a drone with a 3D printer could be that accessible.
best,
Daniel
Hello Nathanial, thats great to hear you are graduating soon. I will be graduating in the spring. I find it crazy you are able build a drone with 3D printing. After I learn more about 3D printing and computational design, I plan on printing some clamps for barbells, since I always lose mine. I also plan on build some computer accessories, since I really enjoy building custom PCs.
Hi Nathanial, glad to see another undergrad in CS taking this class, and congrats on the close graduation date. I am also looking forward to working with a 3D printer for the first time. They have them at my job and I’ve been shown how to use them however I’ve never tried a project on my own.
