For part one of the Assignment I went with a polynomial abstract construct that is generated with an L-System, the L-System also handles the changing of the color.
For part two I modified my L-system in order to generate trees, and I made multiple rules so that I could randomize the build of the tree on mouseClicked() as seen in class. The L-System also randomly draws leafs.
Here are some of my favorite ones:
For the next part of the assignment I expanded on my trees and made an L-System that will randomly grow more complicated shapes (flowers, berries, leafs) and here are my favorite trees:
Here is the plotting that I did on plywood from one of my trees:
For the last part of the Assignment, the brown design, I have an L-System that generates a very circle oriented design along with some pretty followers from our previous assignments. I chose this to be the design I cut in thin plywood.
For the cutting I had the same problem that most of my classmates did, and I had to focus on one of the small sections of the design and enlarge it in order for it to not fall apart.
Here is my code:
Hello Jorge,
Your Rogan Brown engraving looks amazing. I like that you stopped the spiral shape before it went the whole way around, it just adds a little something to the design to help it stand out.
Isn’t it funny how often the trees seem to be lop-sided? I ended up ditching a lot of the random trees because they looked like the wind was blowing 70 miles an hour.
